The Dream Look
You've spent months choosing worktops, cabinets, and taps. The last thing you want is a tangle of chargers and a plug block cluttering the surface. Hidden sockets - pop-up units in the worktop or discreet outlets under cabinets - give you power without the mess. Clean lines, everything out of sight.
Trade Secret
Pop-up sockets need a cable run from the unit to a fused spur or ring. Plan the route before the worktops go in - running under the splashback or through a service void is standard. And always fit USB pop-ups if you charge phones at the island; they're future-proof and reduce adapter clutter. One more tip: position pop-ups so they don't interfere with drawer runners or cabinet hinges.
The Mess Factor
If the kitchen isn't yet fitted, we run cables in the void behind units - no chasing, no visible disruption. For retrofits, we'll need to chase a cable from the nearest socket or spur, which might mean a short run in the wall. We'll match the chase and make good. Expect half a day to a full day depending on how many units you're adding.
Thanet Home Highlight
Modern kitchen refits are common across Thanet - especially in Margate's Victorian terraces and Broadstairs' coastal properties. Worktop space is often limited, so pop-ups and undercabinet charging points are a smart way to add power without sacrificing surface. We've fitted plenty in Ramsgate townhouse kitchens where every inch counts.
